The title might sound weird. Empowerment as most of us would perceive is some power or authority given to us by someone else. We try to use those powers and bring in changes for the better. While this is purely on a positive note, there should be some motivation to empower ourselves as needed. Simple life examples would explain this better. While we were children, we would have lived totally under the umbrella of our family. As we grow, our ideas, expectations, thinking, attitude also grow along just to leave us under depression and anxiety if they don't align with that of our Umbrella. Sometimes, it gets difficult to execute a few things that might be good for everyone. Convincing ourselves and also the others that the action to be taken is for the best of all is a great challenge in itself. Difference of opinion, possessiveness, anxiety and many more such factors come into picture before we actually step out to look into ourselves. Functioning under the spell of someone will work only till we really work under the same someone. The moment we decide to step out to experience the other walks of life, we should empower ourselves to fight things out keeping everything around us amicable. Wonderful moments of our life should not be wasted succumbing to the external influences. There should be a clever balance in anything we attempt to do in life. Getting to the extremes is always dangerous and can be avoided only when we understand the real power we need to possess. Conscious decisions and wonderful self empowerment can take us to great success in life!

Failure - Is it a Doomed word ?
I was terribly shocked to see the picture of an Engineering Student in the first page of the newspaper few weeks back. I would have been happy if the same guy had appeared on the first page for his wonderful achievements. Alas! This news article was to cover his suicide in the college campus! This was the third incident I came across in the last 2 months - College students ending their lives suddenly. Should this be attributed to their adolescence resulting in impulsive actions ? or Should it be called a total miss from the schools who have turned their attention towards just the academics leaving apart the psychological and human aspect of life? Children from their young age are brought up in a very complicated environment. There are two important aspects that are missing to be taught or shared with children today. Firstly, they are groomed to be competitive and trained only for success. Second and most prevalent one is fulfilling anything they wish to have in life.
Failure is considered a doomed word and children are just preached not to even attempt to get near it. Works out in most cases! But the very basic fact of life that there can be success or failure in anything we do and both have to handled more or less in the same way is what is missing in our society. Pompous celebrations for a success and heart aching insults for a failure are the primary reasons why children of today are not courageous enough to face failures. Basic facts like every coin has two sides, every game has a winner and a loser, there is always a day and a night to complete the 24 long hours are remaining as mere facts only. As human beings our mind is always trained to look out for success in anything we attempt to do. Every event in life is mostly looked upon with a probability of 1. There is an engraved mindset existing in this world, where some of us are able to accept only success. Failures are looked upon as end of life deals in some cases where they could actually be opening up a totally new world with a lot of wonderful options around.
The second and most important aspect of this article is about the expectations and fulfillment part. In today's world, children mostly get anything they ask for. Some of them who are unlucky, after reaching a certain age and getting out of the familial pressure try to get their expectations fulfilled. This is OK until it stays with pizzas, pens, ice-creams and chocolates. The moment they try to extend this to relationships, it gets complicated and they are doomed to fail. It is always acceptable and correct to talk our thoughts to people, but expecting them to accept us always is unrealistic. We may face failures when we try to convey our thoughts, express our feelings or propose new ideas. Repeated failures may put us down. But one has to understand that whether we face success or failure, the world will just continue to function and nothing stops. Giving away our precious life for the sake of someone who cannot understand us or appreciate our thoughts and feelings is nothing but an act of cowardice from us.
This doesn't mean that as parents, siblings, friends, we should prevent someone from trying out things. It is always correct to convey our thoughts , the moment we are sure that we are clear about it and we have a conscious decision made in our mind about it. But expecting that our thoughts will always be accepted or our feelings will be reciprocated is totally unrealistic. Failures are OK to be faced in life. Fearing failures, we should not refrain from attempting to do things. We should always know how to come out of failures in case we get into one of them, as it is an experience in itself which can make us stronger, better Human beings in this world!
All is well and lets pull up our socks to taste both success and failure ! Good luck!

From the bottom of the Heart!

People are bereft of gratitude, which is not right. One should be grateful for the help they have received from others as long as one is alive. There are two things you must forget: the help you have rendered to others and the harm others have done to you. If you remember the help you have rendered, you will always expect something in return. Remembrance of the harm done to you by others generates in you a sense of revenge. You should remember only the help you received from others. The one with these sacred qualities is an ideal human being. Love is God, love is Nature, love is life and love is the true human value. Bereft of love, one is equivalent to a corpse. Love even the worst of your enemies. Lead a life filled with love. Then you will experience joy, peace and security in your heart.

Priceless Possession
Pen is mightier than sword is a very well known saying that has stood by its meaning since ages. The word 'Pen' shadows the most powerful raw material available called 'Words', which can convey a variety of things starting from facts, visions, emotions, actions and beyond, making it a never ending list. Words whether spoken or written leave an impression of the source (speaker/writer) in a plenty of listeners/readers. The focus is going to be more on the spoken words as the impact they leave is huge, primarily because of their non-permanent existence in nature by default. Written words can always be referred back as they are recorded in black and white and leave a chance of clarifying misunderstandings if any. Spoken words are very sensitive in nature and once mentioned leave their impression until something more is spoken. The impact that spoken words can create is very high. Some of them bring in a positive change while a few others leave a irrecoverable negative effect. Being so powerful in nature, a negative effect caused by some words can be soothed by a very few encouraging and positive words spoken by a different source. How nice it is to see the power of these words. Just the source that expels it is different in different instances, but the effect they bring in is completely on the opposite ends of the scale. There are instances when words can take lives and some others when they can save lives. Sorry and Thank You are the two most common words in English which many of us would be hearing or using. While I said 'many' of us , it is still heart-breaking to see why some of us are reluctant to see the power of these words. Dignity, Ego, Pride what not comes in between and prevents us from thanking someone or telling a sorry for a known or unknown mistake/misery. The power these words posses is tremendous. A simple 'thank you mail ' from the boss, a smiling thank you to a friend, a heart-felt thank you to a team that worked to achieve something , a small thanks to a kid who helped are all simple instances of motivation for the people who have really helped us reach where we are today. The instances might be small or big, but the thank you for it will always be big in the minds of those who helped us. While these words will provide a positive energy and help all of us move on with life, there are also a few other words, which once spoken leave a haunting pain in the heart and the mind. Human as a creation is so complex and beautiful that the pain eventually gets off the head with time, while that in the heart seems to be vanishing transiently. Until the powerful words that were spoken about don't do their magic, it is prone to sprout back often during times of depression. Choice of words in any conversation plays a critical role. Now the question may hit our head, do we have to really choose all the words while we try to talk with anyone ? Not really ! All these confusions and problems arise only when there is no proper understanding between the conversants. When all is fine, either there wouldn't arise a need for a sorry or a thank you or it would instantly become a part of our conversation, as we wouldn't want to leave a chance of any misunderstanding. So, simple theory, simple practice while we talk
1. Count the words you talk, 2. Keep it simple and straight forward, 3. Convey your points clearly so that the opponent perceives as you expect him to 4. Never hesitate to thank someone who helped you or tell sorry to someone whom you thought needed it at that moment. Words are the priceless possessions that man has got to express his thoughts and change the world around him. Lets make the best use of them and get benefited.

EGOLESS !!!
Yet again, a very nice article from the Heart2Heart Team.
"The more riches you accumulate the more bound you become and get into more worry, anxiety and fear. There can be no peace of mind for a person burdened by riches. People ignorantly seek this restlessness (ashaanthi) as they do not know where to acquire true peace (Shanthi). An educated person must have the virtue of Shanthi as the first qualification. This implies, not being affected by praise or blame, failure or success. It is the ego that makes one feel glad or sad. Therefore control the ego by extending love to every living being. Ego is lovelessness. A person afflicted with ego cannot rejoice when others are happy, and feel pained when others are miserable. Only a selfless and egoless person can share the happiness of others and take positive steps to alleviate others’ misery. God will ever be on the side of selfless persons and there is nothing that they cannot achieve."
